About me
My name is Anna and I have lived in Butler County Pa area most of my life. I am married and have two sons and a beautiful granddaughter. I work for hospice and enjoy taking care of my patients. My hobbies include biking, kayaking, and spending time with my family.
This is my story
27 years ago, I became very sick and lost 50% of my kidney function from a virus. The next few years my kidney function had declined in which I needed to start dialysis. My sister stepped up, got tested, and was able to donate a kidney. She gave me an early Christmas present in December 2004. After my transplant I was able to go back to work taking care of hospice patients and was able to live a fulfilling happy life thanks to my sister.
November of 2020, I tested positive for covid and was very sick. Since having covid my kidney function has declined slowly ever since. Now my kidney function is 12% and despite that I am still working 4 days a week.
There are no words to say to some one willing to give a part of themselves for a life saving gift to another, other than I promise to be worthy and to take care of that very special gift.
Why I Need a Kidney
I need a kidney transplant to keep living. There have been friends and family willing to help me.
Unfortunately, they were unable to help me due to health issues. A kidney transplant would help restore my quality of life. I would be able to enjoy my family more, go biking, traveling and kayaking. Life is precious and I would like to enjoy every bit of it.
